Publishing a gallery component using an XML file
You need the following files to use gallery components successfully in your Flash projects:
- XML-file (gallery.xml) – gallery configuration file
- MXP- file(GalleryNameCS3.mxp or GalleryNameCS4.mxp)- package of the Flash-Component
- MXP- file(GalleryNameCS3.mxp or GalleryNameCS4.mxp)- package of the Flash-Component
Let’s analyze the gallery publishing procedure step by step:
- To start with, make sure the Flash component is installed.
- To do so, open the Components panel in Adobe Flash and make sure the gallery name is displayed in the “flash-gallery.com” component group.
Note: If you do not see the gallery name on the Components panel, but see it in Adobe Extension Manager, you have to perform manual component installation. - Drag the component from the Components panel to the stage of your Flash movie.
- After activating the component, you will be able to change component size on the Properties panel or the Parameters panel.
- The list of all gallery parameters is available on the Component Inspector panel or the Parameters panel.
- In step one of gallery configuration, specify the path to the XML file in the "XMLFile" parameter.
- Now you can configure gallery appearance by changing the values of the relevant parameters.
- Open your XML file and specify paths to gallery images according to the structure of the XML file of a specific gallery.
- Compile your .fla file.
Notes:
If the gallery does not display a single image, check the path to the XML file in the "XMLFile" parameter and paths to images.
If a gallery on the server does not display any of the images, check extensions of files specified in the XML file and files located on the server (.JPG does not equal .jpg).
