Potential issues with Internet Information Services

Some IIS versions may not serve the JSON files, instead returning error 404.

There are two ways to solve the issue:

1. Add a MIME type to IIS

By default IIS in Windows Server 2003 and above will not serve the files that aren't a MIME type and that it knows about (instead returning 404 errors).
You need to add a MIME type to IIS to allow it serve that type of the file. You can set it at the site level or at the server level.
To set this for the entire server:

  1. 1.1. Open the properties for the server in IIS Manager and click the MIME Types
  2. 1.2. Click the "New" button and enter "JSON" for the extension and "application/json" for the MIME type.

2. Change the extension of the gallery configuration file

  1. 2.1. Rename config.json to config.txt
  2. 2.2. Specify the new extension of the file in the embed code of the gallery: <script type="text/javascript">
         jQuery.flashgallery('gallery/gallery.swf', 'gallery/config.txt', {width: '640px', height: '480px', background: 'transparent' });
    </script>
